State and LGA workshopping around scorecards
In 2010 and 2012, as part of our communication strategy for socialising the evidence for participatory action, CIET disseminated scorecards depicting key findings from the maternal and child health social audits. We discussed action pointers with state, local government authorities (LGAs) and ward-level stakeholders for policy advocacy and action: the discussions were timed to link with the annual budget and planning process.
Bauchi state
In Bauchi state, the State Primary Health Care Development Agency used the evidence to prioritise their 2013 activities and financial allocations. State Ministries of Health, Local Government Affairs and Budget and Economic Planning have listed social audit results in their annual plans.
Cross River state
In Cross River, the state government used evidence from scorecards in the state socio-economic survey report to prioritise their 2013 activities and financial allocations. The state planning commission and bureau of statistics listed financial allocations in the 2013 budget proposal to the state government to produce social audit scorecards annually. Various state ministries, departments and agencies gained insight from social audit results in their annual plans.
